We now accept personal checks. The check MUST be in the name of the investor. No third party checks. If a personal check bounces or for whatever reason does not clear, there is a $35 fee added which will immediately be taken from your investor account, thereby reducing your current blocks if already an investor. If you are a new investor and provide a check that does not clear you will be removed from being an investor and will not be allowed to invest with us at all.
We want to make things as easy as possible for you to invest and accepting checks will save you the hassle of getting a cashier’s check. We didn’t do this before now because of the additional hassle of keeping up with returned checks. Since we now accept Deluxe eChecks (still the easiest way to add funds to your investment) it makes sense to also allow personal checks since this is essentially the same thing.
